About Me

I am the State lead in South Australia and Lead manager at for the SkyCity casino contract. My role is to continually drive the leadership team and create an environment for all our cleaning team members at all sites in SA, whilst ensuring all outcomes are delivered with a high standard of cleaning for all clients.

How long have you been working at BIC for?

Almost 2 years I have been grateful to be a part of an amazing company.

How long have you been in the industry?

I have over 30 years of industry knowledge in the cleaning and hygiene sector. Cleaning is a massive part in many industries.

What does your day look like?

At 4:15 am I would typically go through my emails from during the night, discussing any overnight concerns from the SkyCity and Festival Plaza sites. Generally, by 5.30 am I am onsite at one of our South Australia locations having meetings with local clients, contacting the manager at SkyCity to go through any operational requirements in regard to the leadership team and client requests. I also run the ongoing training of teams which takes place on various platforms as well as via face-to-face engagement. I then head home where I finalise further commentary with teams till approximately 7pm. The discussion with night team at SkyCity team then takes place after 10pm to ensure all additional requirements and requests are completed.

What is the most important part of your role?

Communication – whether face to face or online it is important to create an environment for all my direct reports and then cascading to all team members. All staff inclusive of requirements and outcome (standards) and expectations. Always driving the cleaning standards in all operations and refresher training for all teams ongoing. Working safely for all team members enforced and highlighted 24 hours a day with all teams. Driving the business excellence and cementing the BIC brand in SA to springboard the growth.

What do you love most about working for BIC?

The BIC family is very empowering. It is a company that promotes accountability and rewards for efforts and compliance with all processes which always open doors to opportunities to better individuals and the business.

What skills and tools do you need to work in the cleaning industry?

Good communication and ability and want to succeed. Passionate about undertaking tasks to completion, whilst ensuring all aspects are undertaken in a safe manner following any process or policy that is transcribed.
