In December 2021 BIC Services were awarded a Bronze EcoVadis medal, placing us in the 56th percentile of all companies rated by EcoVadis.  We are happy to extend access to our scorecard with our clients and prospective clients upon request.

While the submission process was an onerous experience as a first-time user, it is great to be able to benchmark our performance at a global scale and has provided us with targeted actions to continue to strengthen our position across environmental, labour & human rights, sustainable procurement, and ethics criteria.

NABERS accredited assessor – George Tsiamis, General Manager Procurement & Sustainability


NABERS Accredited Assessors are sustainability consultants, trained and accredited to perform NABERS ratings. They carry out physical assessments of buildings to collect and verify data required to provide a NABERS rating.

NABERS is a star-rating system that allows you to compare the energy efficiency, water usage, indoor air quality, waste management, and carbon emissions of buildings.

United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) Signatory


As a signatory to the UNGC we support the Ten Principles on human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption. We are committed to integrating these principles into our strategy, culture, and day-to-day operations and to engaging in collaborative projects which advance the broader development goals of the United Nations, particularly the Sustainable Development Goals.

Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) – validated Science Based Targets


The Science Based Targets initiative is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wildlife Fund (now known as WWF).

The SBTi drives ambitious climate action in the private sector by enabling companies to set science-based emissions reduction targets (SBTs).

BIC’s SBTs were validated by the SBTi in October 2021.

We have committed to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 and upstream scope 3 GHG emissions 42% by FY2030 from a FY2020 base year.

BIC Services also commits to increase annual sourcing of renewable electricity from 0% in FY2020 to 100% by FY2030.

Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) Member


Established in 2002, the GBCA’s purpose is to lead the sustainable transformation of the built environment, rating buildings, fit outs, and communities through Australia’s largest national, voluntary system – Green Star.

They educate industry, government practitioners and decision-makers, and promote green building programs, technologies, design practices and operations; and advocate policies and programs that support their vision and purpose.

Reconciliation Australia – endorsed Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan


Reconciliation Australia is an independent not-for profit organisation and lead body for reconciliation in Australia. They promote and facilitate reconciliation by building relationships, respect and trust between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Reconciliation Australia provide guidance and have reviewed and endorsed our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan.

Property Industry Foundation (The Foundation), National Partner


The Foundation’s purpose is to increase the availability of transitional housing for homeless youth (aged 25 and under)

In addition to contributing funds and our people putting their hands up for volunteering activities, we will be exploring the opportunity to increase our support by providing pro-bono services, and training and an employment pathway for young people in the care of The Foundation’s community partners.

LASA is the national association for age service providers across residential care, home care and retirement living. They represent providers in metropolitan, regional and rural Australia on issues of national importance.

Supply Chain Sustainability School Member


The Supply Chain Sustainability School enables socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable supply chains for all organisations in Australia and New Zealand through open access to educational resources.

The School provided us with guidance in the development of our Modern Slavery response and is an ongoing source of ESG education and information.

GreenPower – BIC Services is 100% powered by GreenPower


As part of our Science Based Targets commitment, Business Ambition for a 1.5°C future and to increase sourcing of renewable electricity to 100% by FY2030, we are purchasing GreenPower for 100% of electricity requirements for our Australian headquarters in Ryde and our Victoria state office in Melbourne.

GreenPower independently audits our electricity provider to ensure the right amount of renewable energy is fed into the grid on our behalf.

Facility Management Association (FMA)


The Facility Management Association is a peak national industry body for facilities management, representing and supporting professionals and organisations responsible for the operational management of Australia’s built environments. A primary focus of the FMA is to ensure the needs of professionals and organisations working in and dealing with facilities management are understood and considered in government and business policy formulation and decision making.

Cleaning Accountability Framework (CAF)


We are currently certified in Darling Park, George Place and 100 Pacific Hwy. BIC has actively been involved with the Cleaning Accountability Framework (CAF) since its inception and has contributed to the growth and development of CAF since 2013. BIC was one of the first contractors to be awarded CAF Site Certification and currently holds certification across three major commercial buildings.
