Most people probably don’t look at commercial cleaning as a hotbed of innovation, but at BIC we would like to radically change that perception. Innovation is as much a part of our company DNA as any high-tech start-up. We are constantly seeking and actioning innovative ways to improve our service delivery, engage and train our staff, develop and implement exciting new technology and improve our ecological footprint, and take our clients on the journey with us.

Here are just a few highlights of BIC’s innovation story:

Interactive Customer Experience Platform (ICXP)

Traditional cleaning services are based on a simple ‘rinse and repeat’ style – where cleaning tasks are scheduled to a regular timetable and the only time the routine is disrupted is in response to a complaint.

BIC had a vision of a data-driven, intelligent system that manages cleaning service delivery in a way that can respond proactively, dynamically and in real time to changing building usage and needs. So, we developed our unique ICXP platform – a customer-centric service delivery and management system that facilitates immediate issue notification and response, creating a more efficient and practical workflow that puts the customer at the centre.

Talk to our team about taking our ICXP for a test drive and going for a deep dive into the full suite of features, including, live tracking, issue mapping, customisation, automated dispatch, analytics and reporting, contactless interaction, COVIDSafe utilisation and other powerful functionalities that deliver measurable cost savings and efficiencies that add up to a world-class customer experience in your building.

Waste Management and Sustainability

We take waste far beyond management, recycling and reduction and into the realm of data analytics and optimisation. We have created an innovative waste management program that involves partnering with our clients, training our staff, waste minimisation strategies, reuse, sorting, data collection, reporting and feedback loops to continually improve and optimise the entire waste cycle within the buildings we manage. Read our case study here and find out how we can help you achieve real results in your waste management and sustainability goals.

Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi)

We recently announced that our Science Based Targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions for our business have been formally validated. The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a global body helping business set emissions targets aligned with climate science.

The goal is to limit global warming to 1.5℃ degrees to avoid the catastrophic impacts of climate change, in line with the Paris Agreement.

By measuring and reporting on emissions, BIC Services is helping lead the way in our industry and the wider economy to a low carbon future.

GERMii COVID-killing UV-C AI Robot

BIC is focused on our frontline efforts in the ongoing COVID-19 fight and have invested into a partnership with Australian Government award-winning innovators, GERMii Australia.

GERMii GIL handhelds and UV-C fitted Whiz cleaning robots reduce time, kill COVID and reduce chemical spend by up to 90%.

Deploying these exciting products allows BIC teams to sterilise any surface, chemical free and are safe for people but lethal to not only COVID-19 but all pathogens and bacteria.

Our People

One area where we are particularly passionate about innovating and advancing is with our dedicated BIC teams. BIC has created our own training school and workplace curriculum to ensure the highest standards of service from our teams.

We have also embraced our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) which has been developed through a series of internal leadership meetings, supplier interaction and dialogue with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Our staff engagement and incentive programs are designed to foster a workplace culture that ensures high staff retention, exceptional service delivery to our clients and a happy, motivated and responsive workforce. Our recent highly successful COVID Vaccination Incentive program is just one example of how we responded extremely quickly to the national call to arms to boost vaccination rates, which saw BIC achieving double-vaccination rates of our staff that if BIC were a country, we’d be one of the most vaccinated nations on earth.

These are just a few of the multitude of initiatives, innovations and programs that BIC have instigated, in our quest to push the commercial cleaning industry toward an enlightened and sustainable future, taking our clients and staff with us and demonstrating that anything is possible with the right mindset and passion for excellence.
